The Centro Culturale Musicale "Silvio Omizzolo" organizes in october 2008 the 6th international chamber Music Competition in remembrance of the homonymous musician, composer, teacher and concert performer who has left his sensitive mark in the complex cultural panorama of our 20th century.
Biennial musical event reserved at rotation to one different chamber music group inspired by the production of Silvio Omizzolo, this year the competition is dedicated to the cello, an instrument for which the Maestro composed two significant pieces such as the "Sonata", in duo with the piano, and the "Concerto per violoncello, archi e pianoforte", of which exists a version for cello and piano transcribed by the Maestro himself.
The aim of this edition is to return to the commitment already successfully followed in the past to create permanent occasions of culture and artistic divulgation, highlighting new talents and favouring opportunities for encounters, national and international exchanges, public concerts and exhibitions.
